Writing a Manuscript

Postby Shaywanna Harris » October 27th, 2016, 2:33 pm

Hello Scholars!

As we all know, academia is an environment in which you either publish or you perish. This is especially true as junior faculty members (which is a position in which we all may be after graduation). As scholars, we conduct research that has the potential to change the world! Personally, I believe the research (data collection, data analysis) is the most fun part. The less fun, yet extremely important, part of being a scholar is the writing and manuscript production. This month, let's discuss some writing tips and tricks. Specifically, what helps you get motivated to write? What are some of the biggest challenges you have when writing for publication?

Also have you ever been part of a writing group? What was that experience like for you? What suggestions do you have for developing and maintaining writing groups?
