AACTE STATE CHAPTERS

Advisory Council of State Representatives

The American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) is committed to helping states organize chapters. The AACTE Board of Directors recognizes forty-five state chapter associations of colleges for teacher education. An AACTE chapter is a statewide organization that monitors and promotes teacher education at the state level. Each chapter is dedicated to working with state legislatures, state agencies, and other governmental bodies to improve the teaching force in their state and throughout the country.

State chapters help identify important issues for AACTE to monitor and manage. The presidents or liaison representative from these chapters are members of the Advisory Council of State Representatives (ACSR). ACSR meets twice annually to advise the national organization on state policy issues and helps to set the policy agenda for the coming year. Each summer AACTE sponsors an institute for ACSR members.

If you are interested in finding out more about your state chapter, or if your state chapter needs assistance, please contact Andrea Pagano at apagano@aacte.org.
