BUILD A FUTURE WITHOUT AIDS

Beyond the Curriculum: Case Studies for Preparing Teachers to Address Issues of Student Health
The Build a Future Without AIDS project is excited to offer new materials to assist teachereducators and teachers in addressing the impact of health issues on student achievement. From the Build a Future Without AIDS web page, you can access four case studies that address a range of health and well-being topics that include school policies and drugs; teacher attitudes and biases regarding childhood obesity, teasing and bullying; parental AIDS, teaching about HIV/AIDS and confidentiality issues; and the teacher's responsibility to protect students from harmful behaviors. These case studies are intended to further an understandingof health related issues and challenges K-12 teachers increasingly face in the nation's classrooms.

Click on the following links to view the case studies.

Feel free to print and use these case studies in your instruction.
