AACTE presents the following Writing and Research Awards, sponsored by the Committee on Research and Dissemination:

Outstanding Dissertation Award
This award recognizes excellence in doctoral dissertation research that contributes to the knowledge base of teacher education or of teaching and learning with implications for teacher education. Individuals receiving a doctorate in education from January 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, may apply or be nominated for this award. The award includes a cash prize as well as special recognition at the Annual Meeting & Exhibits.

Outstanding Book Award
This award recognizes as exemplary books that make a significant contribution to the knowledge base of teacher education or of teaching and learning with implications for teacher education. To be eligible for consideration, nominated publications must have been published between July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008. The award-winning book and its author/editor(s) will receive special recognition at the Annual Meeting & Exhibits.

Outstanding JTE Article Award
This award, cosponsored by Sage Publications, recognizes exemplary scholarship published in the Journal of Teacher Education (JTE) in areas of teacher education or of teaching and learning with implications for teacher education. Articles published between July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008, will be considered for this award, which includes a cash prize as well as special recognition at the Annual Meeting & Exhibits.

Writing and Research Award Resources

As indicated in the Call for Entries, priority consideration will be given to nominations for AACTE’s Writing and Research Awards that address the areas described in the following resources:
